Salima Hashmi

Salima Hashmi is a Pakistani painter, artist, former college professor, anti nuclear weapon activist, women rights activist and the daughter of urdu poet Faiz ahmed Faiz. she received Pakistan’s ‘Pride of Performance for Arts’ award. She also co-founded Lahore’s Rohtas 2 Gallery, an art gallery featuring works of young artists. Salima Hashmi published a book titled Unveiling the Visible: Lives and Works of Women Artists of Pakistan. The book examines the lives and works of about 50 of Pakistan’s women painters since independence.

The most famous paintings from her work are by the names of Zones of Dreams and Absent Gods. Salima Hashmi is inspiring the society through her art and visible directory of paintings which is phenomenal in several ways.
